Invisalign

Invisalign

Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment that employs clear, removable trays to gradually straighten teeth and align the mouth. The trays are almost imperceptible and provide a comfortable, effective, and aesthetically beautiful solution to achieve a straight, healthy mouth. The name Invisalign says it all: it's the invisible approach to straighten your teeth.

Invisalign is an orthodontic correction method that employs a set of clear aligners, or trays, to progressively straighten your teeth as an alternative to traditional metal braces. Adults and teenagers who don't want people to see metal braces while they talk or smile are particularly fond of Invisalign.

Invisalign can correct many orthodontic problems:

  • Gaps between teeth
  • Overcrowded teeth
  • Simple bite irregularities
  • Crossbites
  • Overbites
  • Relapses after traditional braces have been removed

How Invisalign Clear Aligners Work

Dentist will take X-rays and digital impressions, based on the result your orthodontist will suggest Invisalign is a good fit for your orthodontic requirements. The X-rays and impressions will be sent to a lab, where the Invisalign trays will be created using a 3D computer projection of how your teeth will move with aligners. The treatment strategy and number of custom-made aligners are determined by the outcome of that projection.

Throughout your treatment, the number of aligners you need will depend on your unique case, but normally 20 to 30 aligners are required for both the upper and lower teeth. Your orthodontist will give you a couple sets of Invisalign aligners at a time, which you will wear for roughly two weeks each. You should take out your Invisalign trays for eating, cleaning, and flossing, but you should keep them on at all times to ensure treatment success.
