Orthodontic Braces

Orthodontic Braces

Crooked and crowded teeth, a misaligned bite, and jaw problems can all be corrected with braces. Braces will also solve any issues you may have with eating, speaking, or keeping your teeth clean. Traditional braces are now sleeker, thinner, and more comfortable thanks to advances in dental technology.

Traditional braces are made up of basic metal brackets that are adhered to your teeth and connected by a wire. They must be tightened every 5-6 weeks in order for sustained pressure to gradually straighten your teeth and align your jaw. While metal braces brackets are still the most popular orthodontic therapy, there are a variety of other options.

Learn more about traditional braces and how to adapt them to meet your lifestyle in the sections below.

Bael dentistry offers a variety of clear braces that are less apparent than typical metal braces while still straightening your teeth. Because of the material used to make them, clear and ceramic braces differ from metal braces.

Ceramic Braces: Ceramic braces are constructed of composite materials and are clear. They are available in a variety of transparency levels and will match the colour of your real teeth.

Lingual Braces: Lingual braces are metal braces that are attached to the back of your teeth rather than the front, making them less apparent. Please keep in mind that lingual braces are not available at every dental facility. Please call our clinic before scheduling a consultation with a dentist if you are interested in lingual braces.

Clear Aligners: Clear aligners are a series of clear, removable trays that are custom-fitted to your teeth. You put them on for 20 to 22 hours a day and switch them out when your teeth shift. Your orthodontist will assess your case to see if clear aligner is appropriate for you.

Our orthodontist will discuss whether you should have traditional braces or Clear Aligners. Though Clear aligner is more aesthetically pleasant than metal braces, the trays are constructed of a more delicate material. As a result, your orthodontist may make more progressive modifications and you may need to wear your braces for longer periods of time.
